The ETRL Spec Truck class mimics the Tamiya Championship Series rules. You can find those rules here: https://www.tamiyausa.com/tcs/rules/

Please Note: Any vehicle deemed illegal during the post-race inspection will receive a disqualification (DQ) for that round; ie, losing weights during a race does not exclude you from this rule.

(FN0) Chassis Rules
Both the Spec and Super Truck classes must retain the stock Tamiya TT-01E chassis that comes in the Euro Truck kit.

ETRL Super Truck
No modifications can be made to the chassis except what is permitted in FN6 below. No dremeling or removal of any chassis material is allowed.

ETRL Spec Truck
No modifications can be made to the chassis. No dremeling or removal of any chassis material is allowed.

(FN1) Motor Rules
ETRL Super Truck
ETRL has adopted the ROAR motor rules for its racing program. In the Super Truck class, all participants must use a ROAR legal and approved 21.5T brushless motor. Gearing is limited to the stock spur (61T) and up to a 22T pinion, however you can adjust the timing on the motor.

ROAR list of approved 21.5T motors: http://roarracing.com/approved_brushless_motors.php

ETRL Spec Truck
Handout Mabuchi/Johnson RS-540 Torque-Tuned Motors (Item #54358) will be provided for the ETRL Spec Truck class. You will pick your motor up in the morning, return it in the evening.

Tuning Rotors
Tuning rotors are NOT allowed in the ETRL. The motor must be run in the configuration it was purchased.

(FN2) ESC Rules
ETRL has adopted the ROAR ESC rules for its racing program. In the Super Truck class, all participants must use ROAR legal and approved brushless ESCs.

ETRL Super Truck
The Super Truck class does not allow timing adjustment within the ESC (aka boost). ESCs in this class require a non-timing, or "Blinky" mode, built in and must be run with that setting in both qualifying and main events.

ETRL Spec Truck
The only ESC available to use in the ETRL Spec Truck class is the kit-supplied TBLE-02S (Item #45057)

(FN3) Tires/Wheels
Both the Super Truck and Spec Truck class must use the kit-supplied Euro Truck wheels and tires. Tires can be glued to the wheels, but no inserts are allowed. Wheels can be swapped out for optional Tamiya Euro Truck wheels of a different color. Wheels can be painted but not dyed.

Wheel vent holes must not be plugged. When compressed, air must exit through the stock-sized wheel vent hole.

Wheel vent holes may not be enlarged. Additional wheel vent holes cannot be added.

Due to reliability issues, front Euro Truck wheels may be used in the rear.

For certain track conditions, glue can be applied to the sidewall of tires. For both Spec Truck and Super Truck, the glue can NOT extend past the first tread mark (see diagram).

Tire sauce can be used in either class. Some tracks regulate the type of sauce used, so please make sure you use the right sauce.

(FN4) Bodies
The following bodies are the only ones allowed for use in the ETRL (some may only be available with the purchase of the truck kit):

• 58632 Team Hahn Racing MAN TGS
• 58642 Team Reinert Racing MAN TGS
• 58661 Buggyra Racing Fat Fox

The Mon-Tech Racing M-Truck and M-Truck 2.0 bodies are not legal as of this posting.

Body must start the day with all parts included in the kit; mirrors, coupler and rear bumper. If something should break off (ie, the mirrors), you will be able to continue but must replace them before the next race.

Bodies must be cut on the trim lines and may not be lightened in any way (interior area cut away).

(FN5) Battery Type
The Super Truck class can run any 2S LiPo or 6-Cell NiMh pack. Shorty LiPos can be used to allow weight bias adjustment.

The Spec Truck class can run any 2S LiPo or 6-Cell NiMh pack as long as it is built into a shotgun-style design. No Shorty packs.

(FN6) Battery Voltage
Due to safety reasons, all LiPo batteries cannot exceed a max peak voltage of 8.44v. Spot checks will be done if there is any indication that someone is blasting their batteries. Charging bags are recommended but not mandatory.

(FN7) Modifications
Both the Super Truck and Spec Truck class must run the vehicles as they were supplied out of the box with the following modifications:

ETRL Super Truck

(FN9) Driving Aids
No electronic driving aids (gyros, wheel speed sensors, etc.). Transmitter functions are allowed.

Additional Rules

Team Truck Livery (Only required if Teams are active)
Every ETRL Super Truck team consists of two drivers. Each team must run their two cars with essentially the same race livery throughout the entire season and must seek prior approval for any major changes. Teams are only officially available in the Super Truck class.

3-Minute Qualifying
A 3-minute qualifying format is used and scored using a 5-fastest average lap seeding. The computer will average a driver’s 5-fastest laps to produce an average qualifying lap. The laps do not need to be consecutive. TQ for each class will earn an additional 2 points for the race day.

Mains Events
The grid for the first main event (M1) will be set according to qualifying times.

The grid for the second main event (M2) will be based on the finishing order of M1, however in reverse order.

The grid for the third main event (M3) will be based on the finishing order of M2, however in reverse order.

Any truck not finishing a race will be placed at the back of the grid for the following race.

Super Truck
Drivers will participate in 12-minute Main Events, 3 Mains per day.

Spec Truck
Drivers will participate in 12-minute Main Events, 3 Mains per day.

Pit Stops
There are mandatory pit stops in each Main Event.

Super Truck
Super Truck drivers will need to make 2 pit stops in the first 8 minutes of each Main.

Spec Truck
Spec Truck drivers will need to make 2 pit stops in the first 8 minutes of each Main.

Pit-Lane Procedures
After entering the designated pit lane, a sticker will be placed on the front of the vehicle (location at the pit bosses discretion). The car will be held until the pit timer light goes out. It is up to the driver to make sure he safely re-enters the track (a 3-lap penalty will be awarded for unsafe re-entry). Failure to complete your pit stops during a race will accrue a 5-lap penalty off the results of that race.

Scoring
ETRL uses a 100 – 1 points system in 1 point increments. For example:

1st – 100pts
2nd – 99pts
3rd – 98pts
4th – 97pts
5th – 96pts
etc.

Top Qualifier earns an additional 2 points for the race day.

Points are assessed to all the racers after each full race Main has concluded. It is possible for a Group B or C driver to win the Session if his or her overall race time is faster than the racers in Group A.

If a driver results in a DNS, he will receive points based on where his finishing position is.

If a driver results in a DQ, he will receive zero points for that round.

Team Scoring (Only if Teams are active)
All drivers in each race score points towards both the driver’s and the constructor’s World Championships, according to the following scale:

1st – 100pts
2nd – 99pts
3rd – 98pts
4th – 97pts
5th – 96pts
etc.

For example, if in a given race, Super Truck Driver 1 finishes second and his teammate finishes fifth, then both drivers score 99 and 96 points respectively towards the Driver’s Championship, while their Team scores 195 points (99 plus 96) towards the Constructor’s Championship. Points are tallied up in all 3 Mains for a driver’s maximum of 300 points total for the day (302 if one of the drivers sets TQ). Constructors can collect a maximum of 597 points total per day (300 if one team driver wins all 3 Mains, 297 if the 2nd team driver finishes in 2nd place all 3 Mains). TQ points do not apply towards the Constructor’s Championship.

The Driver’s and Constructor’s Championship Titles are awarded to the driver and constructor who score the most points over the course of the ETRL season. In the case of a tie for a Championship place then the driver or constructor with the higher number of superior race results will be awarded the position. The throw-out rule does not affect the Constructor’s Championship points; all points for the season will be used.

Race Resort
“RC Scoring Pro” timing software automatically resorts racers after the first Main. In the ETRL, it will resort the entire race group, possibly moving drivers to different main events. This will continue to keep drivers with matching skills racing together.

Throw Outs
ETRL throwout system is based on the number of races in each season. It is designed to allow driver’s a chance to win the overall should they have a bad race, family emergency, etc.

Throwouts work like this: each race day has 3 rounds, each round counts toward the final points total. Since there are 6 races, there will be a total of 18 round (6 races x 3 rounds a day = 18 total rounds). The system will discard your 3 WORST races out of the 18 rounds - so, if you have a bad round during Race 1, one during Race 3 and another on Race 6, those will be your throwouts (the other 2 races on those days will count towards your points total). This also allows you to miss 3 rounds on an entire day (again, emergencies, family outings, etc).

Minimum Speed Rule
During the main events, all cars must be in working order and should not impede racing. If your car is not working correctly and you can’t maintain some kind of consistent pace, the race director may ask you to pull off and fix your car. If your car is not repairable in the pits you will need to retire from that Main.

Race Start Procedure
The grid is set in a single-file formation (unless track conditions require otherwise). Drivers are free to complete slow reconnaissance laps of the circuit before taking up their grid positions. Once on the grid, the race director will inform the drivers of the start of the race and, when the horn is sounded, it’s heads up racing from that point on. If a driver jumps the start, the grid will be reset for another try. If that driver jumps the start again, he will be moved to the back of the field.
