Super Truck Speed Tuned Gear Set | ETRL

With more and more people asking questions about the Super Truck class, I thought it a good idea to talk about TT-01 gearing options.

The stock TT-01 comes with a 61T spur; the biggest pinion you can mate with that is a 22T. With the class-available brushless 21.5T motor, this provides excellent acceleration and mid-range pull, but still not a very good top end.

To help with that, it is possible to adjust the timing on the motor through the endbell (not the ESC), giving your Euro Truck a bit more top speed. This still, though, is somewhat speed-limited and actively increases heat in the motor.

To counter that, Tamiya offers a Speed-Tuned Gear Set for the TT-01 chassis that includes 2 different spur gears:

This set will allow you to also run a larger pinion gear, further increasing the overall speed.

I've created this spur gear / motor mounting chart that shows you both the FDR (Final Drive Ratios) of your gearing choice as well as how to re-mount your motor for the proper gear mesh.
