Spec Truck Pinion Gear Rule Change | ETRL

We have implemented a rule change regarding the pinions used in the Spec Truck class. This rule requires the use of the stock 19T aluminum pinion, however after further review, we found that the aluminum used with this pinion is soft and breaks down quite easily, even used with the stock plastic spur gear.

To help keep the Spec trucks reliable, we have changed the rule to allow a 19T pinion from ANY manufacturer.

Please note: we are able to check the tooth count of the pinion used by looking at how the motor is mounted in the car. If we see that the orientation is not correct (per the stock 19T pinion), you may be asked to remove the motor and let us check the tooth count.

If the motor is not using a 19T pinion, you will be disqualified from that round.

Note: Tamiya uses 06 Module pitch for their gears; make sure you pay attention to that before purchasing a replacement pinion gear.
